Chair squat

Sit down to a chair and stand back up: the safest way to learn the squat.

A sturdy chair

How to do it

  1. 1 Stand in front of a chair, feet shoulder-width apart, arms forward.
  2. 2 Push your hips back and bend your knees to sit down lightly.
  3. 3 Drive through your whole foot to stand back up.

Watch out for

  • Dropping onto the chair
  • Knees caving inwards
