What's new

Ethereal ships often. Everything here is live at the same address; there is nothing to update because it is a website. Found a problem? tell us on GitHub.

  1. Mind and momentum

    • A two-tap check-in on Today, mood and energy. A low day turns gentle: training becomes optional, with a ten-minute version ready.
    • Recharge: guided breathing (calm, box and sleep patterns) with a glowing circle that breathes with you and soft taps at each change. The wind-down step on Today opens it.
    • Comeback mode: after a few days away Today welcomes you back with one small thing to do, and after ten days without training the next session is lighter on purpose.
    • Guardrails that speak up rarely and kindly: seven training days in a row, three hard sessions running, eating under your floor, losing faster than 1% a week, or a week that has mostly felt rough.
    • Mind (under You): four weeks of mood and energy at a glance, and every breathing pattern one tap away.
  2. Health diary and family food

    • Health (under You): rate how your body feels in ten seconds a day, see four-week patterns, keep lab results and blood pressure with their usual ranges, get a plain nudge when something is worth a doctor’s time, and print a one-page summary for the appointment.
    • Log a plate you can’t weigh by hand: palms of protein, fists of carbs and vegetables, thumbs of fat, each with what it was. Made for shared platters and meals out.
    • Thirty Gulf and Arabian dishes in the food database: machboos, kabsa, mandi, harees, jareesh, thareed, saloona, margoog, luqaimat, balaleet, chebab, khubz, laban, karak, Arabic coffee, khalas dates and more.
    • Foods on your avoid list are flagged in search and before you log them, with each choice covering what people mean by it (Dairy catches laban and halloumi).
    • Speak instead of typing: say what you ate and it is parsed straight away, where the browser supports speech recognition.
  3. Body: what your weight is made of

    • A guided tape-measure walk-through, one site at a time with a drawing of where the tape goes, gives a U.S. Navy body-fat estimate and splits your weight into fat and lean mass. Today reminds you every few weeks.
    • Smart-scale readings (body fat, muscle, water, visceral fat) can be added to any weigh-in, and are charted apart from the tape so the two never get mixed.
    • A physique target: pick healthy, fit or athletic and see the weight you would be at it with the lean mass you have now, and roughly how long at your pace.
    • Milestones for training, consistency and the body (first workout, ten workouts, four weeks running, a full push-up, two kilos down, 5 cm off the waist, a new body-fat band), each celebrated once.
  4. A coach for your whole self: training, and a profile that shapes your day

    • New purpose, new layout: five sections (Today, Train, Eat, Progress and You), each with its own pages a tap away on phones and desktops. Old links to My plan still work.
    • Train: a home plan built from what you have (a towel, a chair, a bed, a treadmill, or nothing), the days that suit you and where you are starting. Sessions A and B alternate, week one is deliberately light, and each move climbs a ladder from easiest to hardest.
    • A guided workout player: animated demos, rep counter, timed holds with a get-ready countdown, rest timer with beeps, optional spoken cues, Too hard and Too easy swaps mid-session, the screen kept awake, and progress saved so you can resume. Finishing logs the session to your diary and offers the next rung when you earned it.
    • An exercise library: 41 bodyweight moves with animated demos, the muscles they work, form cues, common mistakes, easier and harder versions, and where each sits on its progression.
    • Today now opens with your day, planned around you: a Now card that says what to do next with one button to do it (log lunch, start the workout, weigh in), a timeline with meals, medicines, prayers, training or a walk, the weigh-in, winding down and sleep, and a gentle catch-up for anything that slipped. Fasting moves meals to suhoor and iftar and training to after iftar.
    • You: goals and your reason, wake and sleep times, meals and busy blocks, health notes, medicines with timing rules, foods to avoid, prayer times calculated on your device, Ramadan mode and weigh-in day. Included in backups.
  5. Motion, phone polish and one daily target

    • Everything you press now answers: spring presses on buttons, chips and tabs, a sliding segmented control, sheets that rise, a launcher that pops, diary rows that stagger in, and page-to-page morphs for the active tab. All of it respects reduced-motion settings.
    • Phone fixes: the tab bar stays put between pages and its highlight slides to the tab you tap, taps answer at once on iPhone, scrolling no longer stutters behind the header and tab bar, and a quick first tap is never lost.
    • Today, the plan, the weekly review and the day planner now share one daily target that follows your trend weight as you lose, instead of drifting apart.
    • Anonymous page counts: the site now counts page views with no cookies and nothing that identifies you, so it can learn which tools help people. Nothing you enter is ever sent, and Settings has a switch to turn it off.
  6. A cleaner Ethereal

    • Redesigned from the tokens up: one typeface (Manrope) everywhere, white and near-black surfaces instead of paper, a single green accent, calmer cards and spacing. Same features, nothing to relearn.
    • Halal throughout: pork, pork products, gelatin sweets and alcohol are gone from the database, the recipes, the chains and the guides. No toggle needed.
  7. Recipes, planning and switching

    • Eating out: the leanest order at 20 chains, every food item ranked by protein per 100 kcal and coffee-shop drinks by calories; log one item in a tap or tick several to build and log a whole order. Scanned products now show their Nutri-Score and NOVA processing group.
    • 66 high-protein recipes built from the food database, each with its own page, nutrition table, serving scaler and social card; Today suggests one that fits what you have left.
    • Plan a day or a whole week that lands on your calorie and protein targets, swap or lock slots, log it in one tap, copy or share the shopping list.
    • Import your history from MyFitnessPal, Lose It!, Cronometer or any CSV with a preview before anything is written.
    • Weekly review: twelve-week consistency grid, where the calories went, late-eating, concentration and takeaway-share insights, and a shareable week card.
    • Search puts everyday staples first and understands coke, yoghurt, courgette and other spellings; 1,444 foods including chains and brands.
    • Six more guides (18 total): weight loss after 40, vegetarian and vegan fat loss, intermittent fasting, GLP-1 medications, exercise snacks, when to stop dieting.
    • Fixes: saved meals and steps survive a reload, backups carry the whole diary, modals sit above the header on every page, the two-week check works for gain and maintenance goals and no longer stacks adjustments, quick entry understands "half an avocado" and "1 cup oats".
  8. The diary grows up

    • Natural-language logging ("2 eggs, a slice of toast and 150g greek yogurt"), saved meals, a shareable progress card and calendar reminders.
    • Measured expenditure from your own intake and trend, pattern insights, steps and body measurements, a first-run tour and a quick launcher (⌘K).
    • Error boundaries on every screen, print styles, PWA shortcuts, and a weekly review page.
  9. Launch

    • Eight calculators sharing one profile, a three-step plan, a weight tracker with a smoothed trend and a two-week check, a food diary with barcode scanning and Open Food Facts search.
    • Static, free to host, no account, no tracking. Lighthouse 95+ on every category, WCAG 2.1 AA checked in CI.
