Push-up

The classic. Chest, shoulders, triceps and a rock-solid core in one move.

Just floor space

How to do it

  1. 1 Hands under your shoulders, feet together, body straight from head to heels.
  2. 2 Brace your stomach and squeeze your glutes as if bracing for a punch.
  3. 3 Lower with elbows about 45° from your body until your chest nearly touches the floor.
  4. 4 Press the floor away and finish with straight arms.

Watch out for

  • Hips sagging or piking
  • Elbows flared out wide
  • Half reps
Too hard? Try Knee push-up Too easy? Try Diamond push-up
